Rocking out on the Gibson Amphitheatre stage, Miley Cyrus gave an energetic performance at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night (August 9). The “Hannah Montana” starlet was joined by her dancers as she belted out her newest release “Party in the USA” during the two-hour special. Miss Cyrus happened to make the trip back to the west coast after flying home for a weekend away from Tybee Island, Georgia.

Scheduled to head straight back to Georgia following the night’s taping to continue work on “The Last Song,” Miss Cyrus previously tweeted: “Good-bye Tybee Island. See ya on Monday! I will miss you.”

It’s one of the biggest nights in the entertainment industry, and the 2009 Teen Choice Awards wouldn’t be complete without a serious dose of Miley Cyrus. The “Hannah Montana” hottie arrived at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City tonight (August 9) looking like she was ready for action.  Miss Cyrus gave the paparazzi plenty to gawk at as she strolled around the arrivals area, sporting a white tank top with a sparkly black miniskirt and plenty of jewelry accents to complete her look.

And Miley won’t just be playing the spectator- she’s up for several awards and is also scheduled to give a killer live performance.

Back on the west coast during a break from filming, Miley Cyrus and her mom ventured out for lunch at Mo’s Restaurant in Toluca Lake on Saturday (August 8). After finishing up with their midday meal, the Cyrus ladies then stopped by Starbucks for a meeting, with Miley kindly stopping to pose for a photo with an elder gentleman fan.

The trip back home comes as Miley is slated to make an appearance at Monday’s Teen Choice Awards – as she’ll perform her newest release “Party in the USA” during the two-hour special. Then scheduled to head straight back to Tybee Island to continue work on “The Last Song,” Miss Cyrus tweeted: “Good-bye Tybee Island. See ya on Monday! I will miss you.”
