US Queen Miley Ray Cyrus and a small Phillip Island community have defeated Baillieu Government plans for a large housing development on sensitive coastal farmland, reports Herald Sun.
Just one day after Miley had joined a community campaign to fight the State Government’s plan to allow up to 200 new homes on land near the Ventnor township, Planning Minister Matthew Guy changed his stance.
The change came after Miley made her voice heard: ‘It is a sad state of affairs when it takes Miley Cyrus to intervene before Mr Baillieu will listen to concerns of the local community. It’s fantastic that Ms Cyrus recognises the beauty of Phillip Island, and the Government can assure her that it has no intention of spoiling the natural landscape of this unique area.’
Gold singles were awarded to Selena Gomez & The Scene ‘Love You Like A Love Song’ and ‘Party In The USA’ is now 4x Platinum as well with ‘The Climb’ a triple-Platinum certified song.
