Exclusive Story: Miley Cyrus‘ “L.O.L.” remake film, co-starring Ashley Greene and Demi More is probably one of the most anticipated movies of 2012.

The ‘L.O.L.‘ remake is based on the original french film with same title. It’s based on teen named Lola, played by Cyrus, her & her friends navigate the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship while dodging their sometimes overbearing and confused parents.

The remake, directed & screenplay written by  Lisa Azuelos, was set to come out as early as mid-2011. The film, was delayed for international release for multiple reasons; one of them is due to scandal.

Starting with private screeners in the U.K., the film was immediately pulled before it hit public theaters worldwide after the Miley Cyrusbong-smoke scandal — even though the scandal was just the boost the film needed.. The producers had second thoughts about a scene in the film where you can see Miley‘s character, Lola smoking with her friends (Ashley Greene & others).. quickly demanding a re-edit and cut the scene out to not spark another controversy when the film comes out.

After many speculated dates, what gives? Why isn’t there an official date yet? Why the major delay?

Well, too put it nicely, Lionsgate is running low on funds. The company who took part in making the movie can’t afford promo for the movie, so they’re putting it on hold for a while. The company is counting on “The Hunger Games“, co-starring Miley’s boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth. The film that’s based on the series of books with the huge franchise to support, will give Lionsgate just the boost it needs to support “L.O.L.”.

Despite the fact that many people are supposedly confirming dates, they’re probably false. The film, will most likely hit theaters worldwide sometime after March.
