In the words of Radiohead — this is REALLY happening! Miley Cyrus will swing a wrecking ball down the hallowed halls of MTV “Unplugged” on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 9 p.m. ET, which is, coincidentally, the same exact time she’s going to serve you your life on a silver platter.
Hear that siren? That’s your local ambulance coming to resuscitate you. Tell them to stick around until Miley Cyrus‘ “Unplugged” performance because you’re going to need even more oxygen and a possible defibrillator and/or heart transplant whens she performs re-imagined hits from Bangerz and deep cuts with special guests. We’re ruling out a giant digital singing cat serving as the backdrop of her “Unplugged” stage, but that’s about all we’re ruling out, because we’ve seen Miley light a J on stage (EMAs!), put her hands down her pants (“Adore You”) and motorboat a six-foot-seven twerk queen (Amazon Ashley, you have our utmost respect) so we’re pretty much ready for anything when Miley goes “Unplugged.”
Need a warmup or reminder of Miley’s flawless vocal abilities? Let us direct your attentions to Miley’s recent EMA performance, her exquisite “Backyard Sessions” acoustic series, (Yes, that’s really Miley. Remember when she had long hair and wore flowy peasant skirts? Okay, so we barely do either, but that’s her. Trust.), and a few more of our absolute favorite Miley live performances.
So, let’s Stan, deliver, and watch Miley demolish our emotions (GET IT? “WRECKING BALL” REFERENCE!) with her vocal prowess in some of our favorite live performances, like “Wrecking Ball” at the 2013 EMAs, “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” and “Lilac Wine” from her “Backyard Sessions,” “Rebel Yell” from 2012 VH1 “Divas” Live and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” from her 2010 MTV Live special.
